● Volunteer Overview
Ways to Volunteer
P48 offers a range of volunteer opportunities based in Portland, Oregon, with flexible ways to get involved depending on your availability and interests. Volunteers support programs such as Essential Bag packing and delivery, warehouse organization, event support, Life Skills mentorship, and donation outreach. Some roles are weekly or bi-weekly, while others are project-based or remote. All volunteers complete a background check as part of the onboarding process, and training and support are provided to ensure volunteers feel confident and prepared.
Essential Bag Delivery
Volunteer to package and deliver the essential items to a youth impacted by foster care. This position is typically weekly or bi-weekly, but can also be "drop in." You can schedule regular shifts that work in your schedule to package the requested items and deliver them to the foster child within 48 hours. The office is typically open Monday - Thursday 8:45a - 4:15p (we tend to work remotely on Friday).
Warehouse Volunteer
Do you love to organize while supporting kids in need? Join our team as a warehouse volunteer to routinely organize clothes and store new inventory. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity with goal of providing 1-2 hours of support a week.
Event Support
Love to plan parties and events? We are always looking for creative and organized individuals to support our 2 main fundraising events: Impact Night in May and our golf tournament in September. Meetings are held monthly and bi-weekly via zoom.
Life Skills Mentor
Are you a trauma-informed mentor, coach, or teacher? Once you're an "official" Project 48 volunteer and we've gotten to know each other, we'd love to talk more about the opportunity to work directly with youth through our Life Skills Program.
